CMPs for ICRM Volunteers

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) believes it is vital that a Certified Records Analyst (CRA) and a Certified Records Manager (CRM) remain current in the dynamic field of records and information management. This is accomplished through Certification Maintenance Points (CMPs).

The ICRM has volunteer opportunities that offer CMPs for volunteer services provided.

There are a variety of reasons for volunteering for an ICRM Committee or task (referred to as “Committee” throughout this document). Volunteering for an ICRM committee offers the chance to give something back to the profession or make a difference within the Institute. It provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. You have an opportunity to connect with others in our industry and build your network of RIM Professionals. Regardless of your reason, through your service you are sharing your knowledge and learning along the way. You are also earning Certification Maintenance Points.

Process:

  • On an annual basis, the ICRM Board member responsible for the Committee will submit to the administrative office the awarded number of CMPs for each eligible CRA and CRM
  • Independent requests for CMPs related to ICRM Committee activity submitted by a CRA or CRM will not be accepted
  • A maximum of 30 points per year will be awarded for Committee participation
  • The following table indicates the maximum number of CMPs awarded for each position. The actual number awarded is dependent on the level of activity, feedback, or other criteria as determined by the responsible board member.
  • Interest or questions regarding the volunteer opportunities listed should be directed to the ICRM Administrative Office at ICRM@caphill.com.
