Online Exam FAQs
This is my first remote proctored exam. What's it like?
Taking a remote proctored exam gives you the freedom and convenience to take your exam when you want to and where you want to. Remote proctored exams provided by our partner, Examity, require you to complete a few steps before you begin your exam. You must complete your Examity profile, which you can easily access from your Prolydian account. -You will only need one log in. During the profile setup, you upload a government issued photo ID, which you will show the proctor when you start your exam. You also will answer a few questions that will be used to verify your identity. The video above, "Scheduling a test with remote proctoring" walks you through those setup steps.
When you are ready to start your exam, you will be connected with an Examity proctor who will verify your identity and check your surroundings. You must have a clean desk area. Make sure the room is free of people, pets, open books, and papers, including note pads. Nothing should be sitting on or near your workspace. There are strict protocols that must be followed. Be prepared to remove items identified by the proctor as violating the clean desk area requirements. You will complete a 360 degree sweep of the room to show that it is free of anything that might get in the way of your testing experience. After that, the test will begin. You must stay on screen for the duration of the exam. Otherwise, the proctor may have to pause or stop the session.

No. We cannot allow headsets since we cannot control what a candidate can hear from the headset.
What internet speed is required?
Prolydian’s exam delivery system is designed to require a minimal internet connection speed. Speeds greater than 5mbps are recommended, yet slower speeds will still allow you to access and complete the exam. You will not lose exam time due to slower internet connections. Although stable wireless connections are acceptable, we recommend having a hard-wired connection instead of a wireless connection to prevent any disruptions.
How do I schedule my remote proctored exam?
You schedule your exam directly from your Prolydian account. Log into the system and then go to the "Your exams" area. Click the "Schedule" button and follow the steps. Check out the video below to learn more.

What should I do if I experience an error during testing?
Don't worry! Neither your exam nor your exam time will be impacted by any error you encounter. The system saves the exam time regularly throughout the exam, including after every question. Your current item and all prior responses are also saved, so the system will resume the exam at the point where the error occurred.
You will need to close your browser and then reopen it. Follow all previous steps you took to launch your exam (the steps will depend on whether it's remote proctored or self proctored).
The system will redirect you to the “Continue Exam” page. Click the "Continue Exam" button and you will be placed on the most recent item you viewed.
What should I do if I get disconnected during my remote proctored exam?
If there's an interruption in your exam session, your proctor will attempt to call you to get the session resumed.
