Meeting ICRM Requirements for Professional Experience

Graduates who have either completed LIS 690, LIS 693 or LIS 695 or have otherwise acquired one year of documented work experience outside of the program will have met the qualifications to sit for the ICRM exams or apply for credit for the exams through its academic partnership with LIU.

LIS 690, LIS 693, or LIS 695 must be records management focused. ICRM prefers that the graduate work directly with CRMs or CRAs or that the field supervisor be an active CRM; however, it is not mandatory.

Application Process

Students must submit an application to the Director of the LIU Certificate of Advanced Study. The student must select only one pathway.

The Director of the LIU CARM will provide the graduate with a letter indicating that required courses and experience requirements have been met. This confirms that the applicant is a graduate of the LIU CARM and would like to benefit from this partnership. The graduate should submit this letter with their application to the ICRM.

Graduates are eligible to apply for exam credit upon completion of the relevant ICRM online application and submission of the ICRM application fee.

Graduates will have 180 days from the date of their LIU letter s to apply for the opportunity.
